TURKEYS

Two male  bronze turkeys.. They are beautiful birds when they fan their feathers.
The male birds are bigger in size than the females are.

These turkeys were used for food.

White female turkey.

This is Matilda the white turkey.. She was one that was kept as a pet.

she is now in turkey heaven.
Two young bronze turkeys..
The white bird in the back is a white Muscovy duck.

Everybody got along fine. I know it is not good to mix turkeys with other birds, but, I believe this applies to confined birds.
These guys have free run.

This is Rocky the Emu with a couple turkeys and a chicken. They all get along. They  even shared a food dish.

Sadly, Rocky died several years ago.
As did the some  the turkeys  and chickens in this picture..
Bronze Male turkey. This is Terry the Turkey. He was a pet.. He loved attention and would follow me around and loved to be petted. The problem with pet turkeys, (especially males) after a few years they get too big for their legs.
He had to be put down because he could no longer walk. He lived to be about  about 3 years old..
